Twenty five years ago, the Dark Kingdom was almost destroyed by the Black Rocks rooted over the place. The ruler of the Kingdom, King Edmund, cannot afford that situation anymore and tried to destroy the Opal which is the causation of the those rocks. However, all the attempts were failed. King Edmund advised Quirin and Adira to leave the castle and keep anyone from finding it. At the end of the second season, Rapunzel and her traveling party finally made it to the Dark Kingdom, although things went rather roughly after her boyfriend Eugene was discovered to be the Kingdom’s lost prince and the son of its king. After Rapunzel’s handmaiden and best friend Cassandra betrayed her friends, Rapunzel left the dark kingdom and went back to Corona, although Edmund later followed them. At the end of the series, Edmund, Adira, and Hector return to the Dark Kindgom so they could rebuild it and restore the land to its former glory.
