Feature Characters[]

Jack Frost[]

As a human, Jack grew up in what looked like an early colonial Quaker colony and constantly entertained his friends and younger children by being mischievous and playing the fool. Despite being mischievous and foolish, he acted as a big brother to younger children, and was especially responsible for his younger sister, as his sacrifice for her led him to becoming a Guardian.

Jack Frost is a mischievous teenage hellion who has no interest in being bound by rules or obligations, and instead favors spreading his winter magic for the sake of the personal amusement of himself and children. Despite these traits, Jack is also gentle and generous. The source of Jack's anti-social behavior towards the Guardians and refusal to adhere to rules was mostly because of his frustration with the Man in the Moon not answering his questions about who he was or why he was created, and also because no human, child or adult, was able to see him for centuries for no one had believed in him. But as Jack spends time in the Guardians' company, each individual would have an effect on him that would change him from a mischief-making winter spirit to a full-fledged Guardian in his own right, as well as a hero.

It was his refusal to give up in the face of overwhelming odds that enabled him to help one child, Jamie, keep his beliefs in all of the Guardians as well as finally believe in Jack enough to see him. And it was his desire to protect Jamie, as he once did his sister, that helped him realize his center, as a Guardian, is Fun.

Jack proudly accepted the duties and responsibilities as the Guardian of Fun. His purpose, to spread the feelings of Fun and Joy so as to spread happiness to bolster the faith children have in the Guardians.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III[]

At the beginning of the film, Hiccup doesn't seem to be anything special. Though he does have quite a talent when it comes to creating weapons that will supposedly help him in battle against dragons, Hiccup is far less muscular or physically capable than his peers. However, after meeting Toothless, he is shown to be incredibly observant and smart. Using his skills in the blacksmith shop, Hiccup decides to craft a tail-fin for Toothless, who has lost his, and after many trials, he comes up with the perfect design, as well as a saddle and other riding gear.

In battle, he and Toothless work as a unit and he has incredible control over his dragon. He has taught Toothless how to strike and fire on command and they have a way of communicating even though Toothless does not speak. He has the ability to train and ride dragons like no one else can, and has since passed down some of his knowledge to the other Vikings in his village.

His center can be Friendship or Change, but in a Dark Version, his center is the Betrayal.

Queen Elsa[]

Elsa's personality contrasts with Anna, her sister, in some ways. In the film, Elsa demonstrates to be more of the quiet, calm, type compared to her sister. She also shows a more passive nature than her sister. It was Anna who always pushed Elsa to use her powers, and led her around by the hand when they played together, showing that Anna was more the leader despite being younger.

However, from the belief that staying away from the people she love will keep them safe, Elsa is more sensitive. She believes she is destructive, and longs to be accepted. Unlike Anna, she will not confront her problems, which leads her to believe she can only create winter, not stop it.

Alone in her ice castle in the film, Elsa develops a more free-spirited personality.

Despite these other traits, or due to them, Elsa has a great sense of responsibility, being raised as the next in line for the throne. She feels responsible for hurting Anna, and felt it was her responsibility to always hold herself back and stay sealed away for the good of not only her sister, but for everyone who would be in danger from her powers.

In another contrast from her sister (possibly because of her powers) Elsa has shown a somewhat timid, fearful personality that panics easily. Through various points in the film she was shown to run from problems when they became too much for her to deal with, such as confronting her sister at the ball, dealing with the shock of the people when her powers were exposed, confronting Anna again at her ice palace and fleeing deeper into her castle when Hans and the Duke's henchmen came for her.

Her center, probably, is Sacrifice or Freedom. In the Dark AU , her center can be Isolation.

Princess Anna[]

Anna is quirky, cheerful, and an enthusiastic optimist. Though she is as kind and warm-hearted as any Disney Princess before her, she is also clumsy and excitable, though given her natural running and climbing abilities her clumsiness is more social than physical. She is also shown to be highly impulsive, often acting before thinking. Such examples include agreeing to marry Hans after knowing him for a day, riding after Elsa in nothing but her coronation dress, and trying to throw a snowball at Marshmallow after he had thrown Olaf at her. This may be due to her isolation for so many years, but she was also shown to be as hyperactive and impulsive when she was little. When she was a child she was also the one who begged Elsa for snow, and led her by the hand when they raced around together. She is also completely selfless. All the years she begged Elsa to open her door was because she was worried for her sister and wanted to be sure she was alright. She raced into the winter both to save her people, but to also make sure that Elsa was alright. Her most amazing act of selflessness was when she threw herself between Elsa and Hans, who was about to kill her, freezing solid as the sword struck. This shows that Anna will go to any lengths to help and protect the ones she loves, no matter the cost to herself. Despite her optimism and warm heart, even she has her limits if someone threatens those she loves, as seen by her striking of Hans for his actions, and this only because he almost killed Elsa.

Despite questioning of her judgment to marry Hans (by Elsa and Kristoff) and her decision to do so, Anna has shown to keep a level head and show good judgment in a crisis, and is able to think on her feet extremely quickly, with very little unnerving her or making her panic, another contrast with Elsa who spends most of the movie in fear.

Her levelheadedness is shown after Elsa freezes the fjord. Anna does not panic, deciding on the spot to go find her and leaving Hans in charge. Even though he was eventually shown to be a traitor, his efforts to help the kingdom beforehand and the other nobles looking to him for leadership showed Anna made the right decision.

Instances of her thinking on her feet were when she helped Kristoff fight off the wolves, when she told Sven to get ready to jump over the chasm before Kristoff did, hitting Marshmallow with a tree, and using Kristoff's knife to cut the rope Marshmallow was using to hold them.

Anna possess a subtle connection to the sun, being warm, open and welcoming, as well as possessing red hair. This contrasts with Elsa who is connected with the moon, being closed off and distant.

Her center is, clearly, Love. In the Dark AU, her center can be the hate (Hate for Elsa, for keep her away during many years), although it would be very difficult to corrupt her innocence and optimism.

Her principal enemy is Pitch Black, the Boogeyman and King of Nightmares. As Anna is almost totally devoid of fear, they hate each other.

Toothless[]

Toothless is the most intelligent of all dragons. He seems to have a dry sense of humor matching his rider. Such instances include shrugging his shoulders at the threat of Astrid telling the village about him, and taking her on a roller coaster ride rather than depositing her safely on the ground like Hiccup wanted. Toothless understands human speech extremely well, immediately evening out his erratic flight when he hears Astrid apologize, and having a look of pleasure on his face when he sees she has come around to the dragons.

Because he is a animal, he doesn't have a center of his own. Probably, his center is the same as Hiccup: Change or Friendship. If Hiccup turn evil, he probably become bad as well, but if Hiccup turns dark because of possession or curse, Toothless is often the one to snap him out of it.
