Game of Thrones AU is an Alternate Universe within the Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons fandom. In the AU, Rapunzel, Merida, Hiccup and Jack Frost are all thrust into the world of George R. R. Martin's famous book series, A Song of Fire and Ice. Because it is not canon, ideas for this AU are shown through fanfiction, fanart, and other fan-made works.

About the AU

The world of Game of Thrones is a prime location for fans to use for the RotBTD fandom. Westeros is the perfect location for the Big Four to interact because of a number of reasons: it is full of tension and strife that calls for interaction on a larger scale (war), it allows for the use of magic and the idea of dragons, and it adds elements of competition, anger and rivalry between the Big Four and their potential relationships.

In most cases being born into separate houses along with other characters from their respective movies allows for relationship development in unique and creative ways. This especially is the case with the war that is brewing in the books and the idea of a Romeo and Juliet type romance that could develop.

However, this universe may result in extended time of the Big Four not interacting with each other, as the houses are often located in different parts of the world and at war with one another.  This type of AU story would definitely be considered an epic adventure, as it would demand strong character development and relationship management.

Featured Characters

Main Characters

The Big Four are often seen located in different family houses.  Because this is a new AU, there is no strong consistency as to where each character belongs in the world of Westeros.  Although some choices are almost universally accepted, others are more debatable. Below are the generally accepted family choices of the big four:

JackStark
Jack Frost

Jack seems to always be placed within House Stark which can be attributed to both his personality and his icy powers. Because House Stark is known for their loyalty and honor, Jack can be a sure fit into the family.  Additionally, because they seem to still have connections with the Old Men, his powers can easily be accepted as a trait of the Kings of Winter.

An additional plotline for Jack could be that he is a bastard of Stark like Jon Snow, taking on the last name of Frost/Snow to represent his origin.  This could lead him to follow the bath to the north where he might take the black as a member of the Night Watch, or even go farther to discover the truth behind the White Walkers.

HiccupTargaryan
Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III

Hiccup is surprisingly strongly debated by fans as to where he belongs in the great families of Westeros. The most common family he is placed in is House Targaryen for his clear control over dragons. Additionally, when argued that his personality does not fit the family, one can counter by saying his personality also did not fit in with the Vikings of Berk.

However, others argue that he can fit in well with House Greyjoy as they are commonly seen as the most Viking-like house in the series. Some authors have even gone as far as to have him run away to the Nights Watch in order to prove himself to his father. This journey could result in him finding Toothless, or even finding some equivilant in the wilds of the north.

MeridaBear
Merida DunBroch

Merida is also largely debated among fans, as some seek to fit her based on her film experiences whereas others look to her personality to find the perfect family. The first house she is placed in, House Mormont, is identified because of their sigil being a bear and their home being named Bear Island. Additionally, Mormont has been known to contain female warriors, which would fit well with Merida's personality and drive.

The next house she is placed in, House Tully, is clearly a nod to her red hair that is a common trait of the family. It may also fit in with the house's motto of Family, Duty, and Honor, giving her a foundation to have a similar experience in the world of Westeros that she had in her film.

Finally, some have placed her in House Lannister where her strong personality can really fit in with the women of the house. Her determination and drive fit well with the family, as well as her wit and strive to have as much independence as she can.

RapunzelTyrell
Rapunzel Corona

Rapunzel also seems to be an easy one to place, as she almost always is found in House Tyrell. Many compare her to Margaery Tyrell in the fact that she is smart, knows how to persuade, and has a good heart. Additionally, the motto of the family (Growing Strong) seems to resonate with her personal situations, as well as the flower sigil.

There is some question to if she would have her powers in this plotline, or would simply have her blonde hair and maybe focus on healing. Because her magic doesn't fit as well into the story, it is a plot that is still up for debate.

Nevertheless, Rapunzel's emblem is very similar to House Martell (the Sun).

Also she has appeared being a  member of House Lannister due to the fact that she has his physical features.

Supporting Characters

Queen Elsa

Some people think that the resemblance of the Elsa with Daenerys Targaryen would belong to the House Targaryen, as they all have silver hair like her. Additionally, at the beginning of their histories, their only remaining family is a sibling (Viserys and Anna, respectively). And they both shown certain level of comfort in extreme temperatures;  Daenerys can tolerate a bit more heat than most ordinary people, and cold weather in Elsa's case. But, like Jack Frost, she would belong more to House Stark for her strength and honor like Eddard.

Additionally, in some fanarts Elsa is portrated as the queen/leader behind the white walkers.

Princess Anna

Anna is very similar to the Tullys, with the reddish hair and the blue eyes, and the love that she has for her sister and her family.

Also she appears as a Tyrell, due to the fact that she is intelligent and beautiful. She may also be cast as Sansa Stark due to how their having a pursuit for romance that ended up in a similar manner.

Sergeant Tamora Jean Calhoun

Callhoun is known for her short hair crop, warrior spirit, and fierce tenacity. While she has lost those dear to her and a tragic past that left her the way she is, she can express kindness to those who treat her well in return. This would make it easy for writers to cast her as Brienne of Tarth.

The Croods

The cave family seem to be content with living in the wild and open spaces (following the end of the film of course). With their ability to live freely without being civilized, they would most likely be cast as the Wildlings that live beyond the Wall. (Eep may be cast as Ygritte, due to her red, wild hair and free personality)

Guy

Guy seems content with living in the free wild regardless of the dangers there are. This would give writers the ability to cast him as one of the Wildlings that live beyond the Wall. In other circumstances, Guy might play the part of Jon Snow, having learned to live with and trust Wildlings despite his original distrust of them.

Enemies

Mother Gothel

Gothel is known for her quick attempts to work on people and bring them to her side to gain an advantage. She is also known for her red dress and possession of a magical object that keeps her young and hides her true form; a crone hundreds of years old. This, coupled with her statement on the darkness in the world, would give writers the freedom to cast her as Melisandre.
