Kingdom Hearts AU (also known as KH AU and Keyblade Wielder AU) is an AU (Alternate Universe) within the Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons fandom. In the AU, RapunzelMeridaHiccup and Jack Frost are placed into the expansive universe from the Square Enix video-game franchise Kingdom Hearts. Because it is not canon, ideas for this AU are shown through fanfiction, fanart, and other fan-made works. This AU is considered an offshoot of Fairy Tale AU and Arcade AU.

About the AU[]

Spawned from fanart, this AU places the Big Four within the Kingdom Hearts Universe, each inhabiting their own world within this universe and meeting Sora, Donald and Goofy through such circumstances.

How they meet one another differs between interpretations, either having their own fantastical journeys in their worlds (adding in elements from the video game's main characters, the Heartless, the Nobodies, et cetera) or meeting each other through circumstances in congregating hub-worlds like Traverse Town or Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden. In other circumstances, each of the characters gather together and become the main characters in their own stories, even being the wielders of their own keyblades.

Because the Kingdom Hearts franchise uses excessive elements from popular Disney stories, the likelihood of MeridaMoana, Miguel, Wilbur and Violet, et cetera existing in the Kingdom Hearts universe, like Rapunzel, Elsa, Anna, Hiro and Ralph, is very likely.

This AU can also be an alternative AU with Final Fantasy AU, as elements, traites and even characters from the Final Fantasy games, like FFVII, FFVIII and FFX, are featured in the Kingdom Hearts series; along with some Final Fantasy themed Keyblades. While the KH manga series makes it an alternative with Manga AU.

AUs of Disney KH Worlds, and Characters[]

Featured Characters[]

The Big Four[]

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III[]

Hiccup is commonly cast as a Keyblade Wielder, while his keyblade is made to look like Toothless or simply references his friendship with the night fury and Hiccup's Viking heritage.

Jack Frost[]

Jack is commonly cast as a Keyblade Wielder, while his keyblade is made to look like his staff or references his ice powers.

Merida DunBroch[]

Since Kingdom Hearts III has three of the first Disney Pixar characters and worlds (even when only two of the worlds are based upon Pixar films while a single Pixar character appears on the original KH world of Twilight Town) to appear in the Kingdom Hearts series, there is a possible chance that Merida and the world of Brave might appear in future Kingdom Hearts games. Because Merida is a Disney Princess and only three of the new Princesses of Hearts were revealed in Kingdom Hearts III, there is a chance that Merida might end up being one of the new chosen seven.

While here in the AU, Merida is seen as a Keyblade Wielder that wields a Celtic, bow and arrow or a bear styled Keyblade. The keychain of her Keyblade would most likely be DunBroch's Sword clan crest or its kingdom crest (that is seen on necklace and in the castle's throne room above the four wooded thrones). She can also be a young girl that companies and fights along right a Keyblade wielder.

Rapunzel Corona[]

The world of Tangled is one of the new Disney worlds featured in Kingdom Hearts III, as Sora and his friends meet, help, take part and learns from Rapunzel's story. This could have fans feature Rapunzel as her Kingdom Hearts counterpart, in the same way that some have Rapunzel as her Ralph Breaks the Internet cameo that is the Netizen version of her from the Oh My Disney website.

While here in the AU, long before KHIII came out and the news of Tangled being part of it was revealed, Rapunzel has been featured as a Keyblade Wielder that has a light that shines as bright as the sun and wields a Keyblade that resembles her tower, frying pan, the Golden Flower or her long, golden hair: with Corona's sun crest, the frying pan or one of Corona's lanterns as her blade's keychain. Her Keyblade could even be the official Tangled Keyblade, Ever After, as it resembles her tower (with her long, glowing hair wrapped around it), frying pan and a strangled of her braded hair, along with Corona's sun crest and the Sun Drop Flower. She can also be a young girl that companies and fights along right a Keyblade wielder or could be featured as one of the Disney characters that Sora summons to aid him in battle.

In other circumstances, a Brunet Rapunzel can be portrayed as Kairi, while a Blond Rapunzel plays Naminé. As Kairi is Naminé's somebody and Naminé as Kairi's nobody, so two versions of Rapunzel (brunet and blond) can easily play the role of these two girls; as well as Kairi having a connection to light and Naminé having an interest in art. Her journal can serve as Naminé's Notebook, as both books contain drawings of people's memories that are drawn from the their blond owners. Rapunzel can even be cast as Kingdom Hearts' version of Aerith, for her pink dress, kindness and is sometimes portrayed as her in Final Fantasy AU. While having one of her closes friends become her enemy, due to Cassandra being manipulating into going down a path of darkness and hate by Zhan Tiri (as the Enchanted Girl), could possibly have her as a female Sora.

Extra Characters[]

Tinker Bell[]

In some of the first few KH games (mainly as Peter Pan's fairy), Tink is one of the Disney characters that Sora summons into battle; but it is possible that Sora and his friends "might" take part in some of the Disney Fairies tales. Like the first Tinker Bell film, for when they learn more about their small, fairy friend and become fairies themselves, so they can get around Pixie Hollow. Since Tink is a Disney character, it could have fans feature the Tinker-Talent fairy as her Kingdom Hearts counterpart, in the same way that some have Tink as her Ralph Breaks the Internet cameo, that is the Netizen version of her from the Oh My Disney website.

Tinker Bell is also seen as a Keyblade Wielder that wields one of the Peter Pan themed keyblades; the Fairy Harp and Pixie Petal. Her Keyblade can also be designed to match the themes from Disney Fairy or to resemble her talent as a Tinker.

Hiro Hamada[]

Hiro and the world of Big Hero 6 appear in Kingdom Hearts III, as Sora and his friends meet, help and learn from Hiro and his friends. Which could have fans feature Hiro as his Kingdom Hearts counterpart, in the same way that some fans have Hiro as his Ralph Breaks the Internet cameo, that is the Netizen version of him from the Oh My Disney website.

While here in the AU, long before KHIII came out and the news of Big Hero 6 being part of it was revealed, Hiro is a Keyblade Wielder that wields a Keyblade that resembles Baymax, Megabot, San Fransokyo or his hero suit-armor. He could even wield the official Big Hero 6 Keyblade, Nano Gear, as it is based on Baymax's 2.0 amour, Megabot, the Microbots (when they form together), the blue color of Wasabi's blades, GoGo's magnetic wheels, the chem-balls that are on the strap of Honey Lemon's chem-purse and the icon that is on Baymax's healthcare chip, as its keychain.

Big Hero 6[]

The Big Hero 6 team and the world of the Big Hero 6 film appear in Kingdom Hearts III, as Sora and his friends meet, help and learn from the team; while the trio of "Keyblade Hero 3" teaches the team how to fight the Heartless. Fans can feature the team as their Kingdom Hearts counterparts, in the same way that some have Big Hero 6 as their Ralph Breaks the Internet cameos, that are the Netizen versions of them from the Oh My Disney website.

While here in the AU, long before KHIII came out and the news of Big Hero 6 being part of it was revealed, they are presented as a group of Keyblade Wielders that posses their own Keyblades that resembles their hero suit-armor, or the projects that they are working on at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology and use with their suits and hero gear.

Wreck-It Ralph[]

Ralph appears in Kingdom Hearts III as a summon character that Sora calls into battle when he needs his wrecking strength, he later reappears in Kingdom Hearts Union χ, along with other characters and the arcade game worlds from his film. Since Ralph is a Disney character, it could have fans feature him as his Kingdom Hearts counterpart, in the same way that some have a few of the fandom's Disney character members as the Netizen versions of them from Ralph Breaks the Internet. There is a chance that the next Kingdom Hearts games might have Sora and the gang coming across Ralph's home world, as the Kingdom Hearts universe have had the trio, or any of its other original characters, going to the home worlds of a few of the known Disney summon characters.

Queen Elsa[]

The world of Frozen is one of the Disney worlds featured in Kingdom Hearts III, as Sora and his friends meet Elsa and learns from the story she shares with Anna. This could have fans feature Elsa as her Kingdom Hearts counterpart, in the same way that some have Elsa as her Ralph Breaks the Internet cameo, that is the Netizen version of her from the Oh My Disney website.

While here in the AU, long before KHIII came out and the news of Frozen being part of it was revealed, Elsa has been portrayed as a Keyblade Wielder that is a master of the ice spell Blizzard. When it is combined with her own magic. Her Keyblade is mostly made to like ice and snow, her ice castle or of her blue dress, with a snowflake or Olaf as it's keychain. Her Keyblade could even be the official Frozen Keyblade, Crystal Snow, as it resembles her ice castle, is decorated with snowflakes (that look closely like her personal mark) and has Olaf as its keychain, or any of the other ice themed and designed keyblades, like Diamond Dust.

Before Frozen was officially added to the Kingdom Hearts universe through KHIII, many fans had came up with the common idea of both Sora and Riku traveling to Arendelle where Riku encounters and helps Elsa through her time of fear and isolation, while Sora accompanies and protects Anna. Like Elsa, Riku had once isolated himself from his friends so he could protect them from himself and had feared the dark powers he wields, because of their common traits Riku would want to help Elsa through her struggle and to make sure that her heart doesn't fall into darkness.

Princess Anna[]

The world of Frozen is one of the Disney worlds featured in Kingdom Hearts III, as Sora and his friends meet, help, take part and learns from Anna and her sister's story. Which could have fans feature Anna as her Kingdom Hearts counterpart, in the same way that some have Anna as her Ralph Breaks the Internet cameo, that is the Netizen version of her from the Oh My Disney website.

While here in the AU, long before KHIII came out and the news of Frozen being part of it was revealed, Anna is a Keyblade Wielder that wields a Keyblade that is designed after the flower patterns that are part of Arendelle's crest, which are sometimes used as it's flower shaped keychain.

Before Frozen was officially added to the Kingdom Hearts universe, as well as coming apart of its series through KHIII, many fans had came up with the common idea of both Sora and Riku traveling to Arendelle where Sora accompanies and protects Anna, while Riku encounters Elsa and helps her during the queen's isolation. Like Anna, Sora has someone who had choose isolation in hopes that his choice would allow him to protect his friends from the danger and pain he might cause them, because of their common trait Sora would want to help Anna in her task of finding Elsa and bring back summer, all while mending the sister's bond.

Marshmallow[]

Marshmallow and the world of Frozen is one of the Disney worlds featured in Kingdom Hearts III, he first appears as a boss before becoming one of Sora and gang's allies, so they could help each other in finding Elsa so they could help her. Since Marshmallow is a Disney character, it could have fans feature him as his Kingdom Hearts counterpart, in the same way that some have a few of the fandom's Disney characters as the Netizen versions of themselves from Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Dragon Riders[]

The members of the Berk Dragon Training Academy are portrayed as a group of young Keyblade Wielders, who wield keyblades that resemble their dragons and Viking clothing.

Alebrijes[]

Their animal and colorful forms and residing in another realm, can easily make them spirit Dream Eaters. They could also be cast as themselves, for when Sora and the gang's journey takes them to the world of Coco. Since Donald and Goofy are animals, fans believe that the two would be turned into Alebrijes for when they and Sora enter the Land of the Dead in the KH based world of Coco.

Flynn Rider[]

Flynn/Eugene and the world of Tangled is one of the Disney worlds featured in Kingdom Hearts III. Which could have fans feature Flynn as his Kingdom Hearts counterpart, in the same way that some have a few of the fandom's Disney characters as the Netizen versions of themselves from Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Which could have fans feature Maximus as his Kingdom Hearts counterpart, in the same way that some have a few of the fandom's Disney characters as the Netizen versions of themselves from Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Mother Gothel[]

Since Mother Gothel is a Disney character, it could have fans feature Gothel as her Kingdom Hearts counterpart, in the same way that some have a few of the fandom's Disney characters as the Netizen version of themselves from Ralph Breaks the Internet. Even thuogh Gothel's Heartless "self" and form, Grim Guardianess, gives her a second "identity".

Kakamora[]

The Kakamora being a group of antagonists and are non-human characters from a Disney film, can easily have them as Heartless.

Cy-Bugs[]

The Cy-Bugs and the world of Wreck-It Ralph is one of the Disney worlds featured in Kingdom Hearts Union χ, as boss characters. Since they are Disney characters, it could have fans feature them as their Kingdom Hearts counterpart, in the same way that some have a few of the fandom's Disney characters as the Netizen versions of themselves from Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Because they are group of antagonists and are non-human characters from a Disney film, it can easily have them as Heartless versions of themselves.

Prince Hans[]

Hans and the world of Frozen is one of the Disney worlds featured in Kingdom Hearts III. Which could have fans feature Hans as his Kingdom Hearts counterpart, in the same way that some have a few of the fandom's Disney characters as the Netizen versions of themselves from Ralph Breaks the Internet. Despite Hans having small and silent role in the game, even though the succumbed Darkness in his heart is what turned Hans into the Sköll Heartless, fans have given him a bigger role than the one he had, before becoming a Heartless in the (official) Kingdom Hearts universe, based on theories and ideas that a few fans had long before Kingdom Hearts III was released.

Vanellope von Schweetz[]

Even though Vanellope wasn't seen in Kingdom Hearts Union χ, there is a chance that future Kingdom Hearts games might have Sora and the gang traveling to the Wrack-It Ralph based KH world, where they meet and befriend Vanellope, as Sora has visited the home worlds of the Disney characters that have helped him as summons; and Ralph was featured as a summon character in Kingdom Hearts III. Since Vanellope is a princess, that helps a "bad-guy" become a hero and to be friendly welcomed by the people around him, and only three of the new Princesses of Hearts were revealed in Kingdom Hearts III, there is a chance that Vanellope might end up being one of the New Seven Hearts.

Ralph Breaks the Internet being a Disney crossover film and Oh My Disney being one of the websites Vanellope visited, during her time in the Internet with Ralph, before she had the choice to remain in Slaughter Race, could have Vanellope as either a Keyblade Wielder or as the companion of one, in the AU of the Kingdom Hearts series. Since some of the netizen versions of the Disney Princesses, that Vanellope befriended and learned from, are five of the first Princesses of Hearts, while Rapunzel, Elsa and Anna are three of the new seven Princesses of Hearts.

Moana Waialiki[]

Moana being a Disney Princess (as she is seen with the company of the rest of them in Ralph Breaks the Internet) who helps a fallen hero on their journey to return a stolen heart as its return ended the dark dangers that surround the ocean, and only three of the new Princesses of Hearts were revealed in Kingdom Hearts III, there is a chance that Moana might end up being one of the new chosen seven. Since Moana is a Wayfinder and the star shaped lucky charms have the same name as her sailing explorer title, a few fans believed that Disney's Moana would have been added to the Kingdom Hearts universe through Kingdom Hearts III, due to the three missing Keyblade wielders each carrying their own Wayfinder good luck charms and fans knowing that the game would have Sora and gang searching for the three; before the official plot and story was revealed.
