Assassin's Creed AU (also known as AC AU) is an AU within the Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons fandom. In this AU, the Big Four, and other associated characters, are members of the Assassins Order, an organization from the Assassin's Creed video game franchise. This AU can be considered as a sub-scenario of Arcade AU.

About the AU[]

Spawned from fanart, this AU takes the rich mythology of Assassin's Creed and makes the Big Four members of the Brotherhood of Assassins, an organization that wishes to encourage free will, fundamentally opposing the Templars, who wishes to save humanity from itself by taking away free will.

Fans like to compare the Pieces of Eden, ancient technology with various ancient uses that appear as holy artifacts to humans, to the Relics of the Golden Age from Guardians of Childhood.

Because Assassin's Creed 4 takes place in a pirate-setting, fans like to consider this AU an alternative to Pirate AU. While Syndicate takes place in Victorian London and has a Steampuke-like theme, Chronicles: China takes place in ancient China, AC: Origins takes place in the time of old Egypt and the rain of the last Pharaoh, just as AC: Valhalla is set in the Viking era, Chronicles: Russia has Anastasia assisting a Russian Assassin, and the legendary underwater city of Atlantis, along with some Greek mythology monsters being apart of AC: Odyssey. The many searches for Pieces of Eden and historical treasures can also place it beside Treasure Hunters AU.

Featured Characters[]

The Big Four[]

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III[]

Because Hiccup holds up a position for the betterment of mankind in a manner seen as bad to the general public, Hiccup is most commonly portrayed as an Assassin. In some circumstances, he becomes a member after he leaves Berk with Toothless after winning the chance to kill Hookfang either before or after his secret is revealed. The Dragon Eye and its lenses can be portrayed as a Piece of Eden (like the Crystal Skull), to help Hiccup find others or to show him how they work. Hiccup could even be a friend of the Assassins as he repairs their weapons and gear with his blacksmithing skills, and sometimes studies the Pieces of Eden they find for them. While the Dragon Manual could serve as a book that contain knowledge about the Isu artefacts in place of dragons.

Should Hiccup be portrayed as a character from the franchise, he would be Ratonhnhaké:ton (Connor) from ACIII, while Astrid plays the part of Aveline de Grandpre from ACIII: Liberation. Hiccup's Northern heritage and being a Viking warrior in his own way can easily portray him as one of the Viking characters from AC: Valhalla, like (male) Eivor Varinsdottir.

Jack Frost[]

Jack would be a bit hesitant to join the Assassins at first, though he would help them against Pitch Black and later join their ranks. The Guardians as Assassins would have trained Jack in assassin style combat and the code they live by, as well as being the ones that convinced Jack to remain with the brotherhood.

Should Jack be portrayed as a character from the franchise, he would be portrayed as the France Assassin, Arno Dorian from AC: Unity, with Elsa as his Templar lover, Élise de la Serre, for the Jelsa pairing. The ship also as the two portrayed as the Frye twins, Jacob and Evie from Syndicate; since the two are sometimes portrayed as siblings as well as lovers.

Merida DunBroch[]

Because of her high value on freedom, Merida is most commonly portrayed as an Assassin. She is usually portrayed as an archer. Merida would have joined the Brotherhood for the freedom of her clan and to keep DunBroch safe from Templars that would wish harm on its people. In some circumstances, Merida would have came across the Assassins when she had ran away from Castle DunBroch in tears and later joins their ranks, when they both discovered the power within the Ring of Stones.

Rapunzel Corona[]

Rapunzel may not have the heart of a killer, but she can still help and be a member of the Brotherhood by being their healer or librarian as she digs up knowledge and information of the First Civilization and their Pieces of Eden, while placing her findings in a journal so its contents could help future assassins. Where they are, what they do and what would happen if they were to fall into the wrong hands. Rapunzel could also have been trained in assassin styled combat by Cassandra, should she be needed on the field and so she could defend herself from Templars or their men.

Rapunzel would have most likely have joined the Brotherhood when she learned that Templars were planning to harm the people of Corona for power and that the Assassins wanted to make sure that doesn't happen; in which would lead to Rapunzel helping them in whatever way she could be of some assistance. Which often has fans see her as a Assassin, as well as one of their allies. Corona's sun crest is sometimes placed in the center of the Assassin Brotherhood's emblem, while the Separatists of Saporia could serve as the Templars that Rapunzel fights, as the sect dream of Corona's fall and Saporia regaining power.

Extra Characters[]

Pitch Black[]

Because Pitch's actions impede the progress of mankind - spreading fear and impeding the light within others for his own personal gain - as well as holding an antagonistic position to the Big Four, Pitch is most often portrayed as a Templar, even as a high-ranking member to the Knights Templar. In other circumstances, because of his longevity, mysterious stature and his origins amongst a celestial civilization, Pitch is often seen as a malevolent member of the First Civilization.

Big Hero 6[]

The team are a group of modern day Assassins with their own unique stills and "toys" that they use to kill Templars, stay alive and hack into Abstergo. As well as firing up the Animus to find Pieces of Eden from the eyes of their predecessors and to awaken their assassin skills, by walking through each one of their ancestors' memories.

Heather[]

Heather's past and clothing in Race to the Edge makes her a revenge seeking Assassin, as she kills the Templars on the Brotherhood's list and those who wronged her adopted family and the assassins that raised her. After coming across her brother, Heather learns that she comes from a family of Templars; her birth father left her to be raised by her adopted family so she could become an assassin and undo his Templar deeds. When Dagur placed his love for his family over his own loyalty to the Templar Order, he began to help his sister in secret.

While Heather and Dagur being a team in the later seasons of Race to the Edge, she and her brother (or Hiccup has he is sometimes placed as Heather's brother) can be cast as the Frye twins, Evie and Jacob from Syndicate. They could also be cast as Kassandra and Alexios from Odyssey, as the sibling that is picked as the playable character goes on a journey to find their family so they could be whole again, much like Heather and Dagur's self set mission to find their father, while the unpicked sibling serves as the ruthless warrior and weapon "Deimos"; and Kassandra is considered to be the "true" protagonist of the game and Assassin's Creed series. Heather being a Viking Shieldmain in an Northern based world can easily portray her as one of the Viking characters from AC: Valhalla.

Guardians of Childhood[]

The Guardians are seen as high ranking members of the Assassin Brotherhood, along with being Jack's teachers as they teach him the creed and the ways of the Brotherhood. Their G mark, crest is sometimes placed in the center of the Assassin Brotherhood's emblem. They can also be malevolent members of the First Civilization, the Relics of the Golden Age - from the Guardians of Childhood book series - can even be placed as Pieces of Eden.

Defenders of the Wing[]

Because of their hood style clothing and goal to defend dragons from those that would wish them harm, they are seen as Assassins. With Queen Mala and Throk as two of the high ranking members of the Assassin Brotherhood, while the Dragon Hunters are the Templars that they are tasked to fight and kill. Since the Wingmaidens also take care of dragons and are also part of the DreamWorks Dragons: Race to the Edge series, the female tribe could be allies of the Defender Assassins of the Wing, as fellow assassins (in which could also have Atali a high ranking member of the Brotherhood), their informants or supporters in their fight.

The Viking era story of AC: Valhalla and How to Train Your Dragon being set in an Northern based world can easily portray the Defenders (as well as the Wingmaidens) as characters from Valhalla.

Viggo Grimborn[]

Due to Viggo's position and view on life as a feared "business man," he and his older brother are seen as high, ranking Templars. He could even be someone that does business with the Templars and supply them with weapons, food and other items and "cargo" that they need for their cause. Should Viggo come across a Piece of Eden, in form of the Dragon Eye, he'll most likely use it to gain control of both the Assassin Brotherhood and the Templars.

Viggo residing in an Northern based world can easily portray him as one of the Viking characters from AC: Valhalla.

Queen Elsa[]

Elsa is a Assassin living in the icy mountains and keeping her people safe from Templars in secret, as she can't let them know that she is on to them or risk her sister's life. She is also seen as someone that isn't aware of the Assassins or the Templars' true attentions, when Anna is portrayed as a Assassin and her sister's protector. Arendelle's crocus flower crest is sometimes placed in the center of the Brotherhood's ionic emblem.

Should Elsa be portrayed as a character from the franchise, she would be Élise de la Serre or Evie Frye, should Jack be Arno Dorian or Jacob Frye for the Jelsa pairing; since the two ice magic wielders are sometimes portrayed as siblings as well as lovers. Fans have also portrayed her as Aveline de Grandpré, as well as a female Arno Dorian and Ratonhnhaké:ton (Connor). While Elsa's heritage, that was revealed in Frozen II, could have her as Aveline de Grandpre. Similar to how the style of her braid and being a sister could possibly have her as Kassandra.

Princess Anna[]

Anna is mostly seen as a Assassin that joined the Brotherhood so she could protect her older sister. Mostly because she had learned that Hans and the Duke of Weselton are Templars that want to take control of Arendelle, by manipulating the Queen, along with preparing to kill Elsa should she uncover their plans or for when they have no longer need her "help." Anna would seek Kristoff's help in weaponry, word on the Templar's crimes and providing her with "civilizing" clothes; so she can go around the kingdom unrecognizable. Arendelle's flower crest is sometimes placed in the center of the Brotherhood's emblem, or is simply merged with it.

Moana Waialiki[]

When the Heart of Te Fiti is portrayed or used as a Piece of Eden, Gramma Tala would get her granddaughter to seek out the Brotherhood and to keep the heart out of Templar hands. Once Moana came across their home island in the South Pacific they trained her in the ways of the Assassin Brotherhood, mostly under Maui. Once Moana becomes a Assassin, she sets out on a journey to the Mother Island so she could return the heart and to make sure that the Templars could never find the island or the heart again.

Trader Johann[]

Johann is seen as a friend of the Assassin Brotherhood, that delivers them information on Templar activities, along with providing them weapons and items that he collected in his travels, so he could gain their trust until they uncover the Piece of Eden he seeks. While he waits, Johann secretly tips his fellow Templars off and allows members that they could afford to lose be killed by the Assassins, so they wouldn't suspect him of being a double agent or a Templar.

Johann residing in an Northern based world of the Viking era can easily portray him as one of the Viking characters from AC: Valhalla.

Flynn Rider[]

Eugene is a thief that stole a piece of Eden from a Templar, before the Assassins could. Instead of killing the thief, the brotherhood offered him a chance to join their ranks and fight for the Templars for the people's freedom. Once Eugene was reborn as a Assassin of the Brotherhood, he changed his name to Flynn Rider, so he could truly feel reborn and to draw strength from his childhood hero.

Should Flynn be portrayed as a character from the franchise, he would be portrayed as the well-known Italian Assassin, Ezio Auditore da Firenze from ACII. As there is a resemblance, in appearance, between the two men. Fans have also cast him as Arno Dorian from AC: Unity, with Rapunzel as Élise de la Serre.

Karasu and Washi[]

Since the two sisters are skills assassins, they can either be rouge Assassins of the Assassin Brotherhood or as highly skilled Templars, who kill assassins that try to get in their way. This could have them as the bodyguards of their father, for when he is featured as a high ranking member of the Templar order.

Dragon Riders[]

The Dragon Riders of the Berk Dragon Training Academy can be featured as a group of Assassins, that work together as a team.

Astrid Hofferson[]

Fans have cast Astrid as Aveline de Grandpré from ACIII: Liberation, for when Hiccup is seen as Ratonhnhaké:ton (Connor) from ACIII. While Astrid being a Viking shieldmaiden with blond hair and wields an axe as her main weapon of choice, can also portray her as (female) Eivor Varinsdottir from AC Valhalla.

Prince Hans[]

Hans is seen as a Templar, or as someone that has allied himself with them so they could help him in his quest of gaining a throne, the title of king and power. There have also been times when he has been featured as a Assassin of the Assassin Brotherhood.

Adira[]

Since Adira was part of a group known as the Brotherhood (which she has thought was silly as she is a woman) and is a skilled fighter, fans could feature her as a Assassin and member of the Assassin Brotherhood.

Hector[]

Since Hector is part of a group known as the Brotherhood and is a skilled fighter that is willing to kill for a sworn task, fans could feature him as a Assassin and member of the Assassin Brotherhood.

Quirin[]

Since Quirin is/was part of a group known as the Brotherhood and is a warrior, fans could feature him as a Assassin and member of the Assassin Brotherhood. Who left his Assassin days behind him when he met his wife and became the father of their child, all while keeping his past a secret from his son.

Di Amara[]

Di (living as Liv Amara or her self) can easily be placed as a modern day Templar who specializes in the science side of their organisation. Should Di uncover the Isu's Olympos Project that created the four Greek monstrous guardians of the Isu artefacts transmute the person that touches them into the fallen Greek monster they "came" from, so they could become they're new guardian unless the artefacts are retrieved from someone that is able to resist they're hold before the transmutation could begin, she'll possibly try to recreate the project through Abstergo's research on the First Civilization and the Pieces of Eden that are possibly connected or are somewhat similar to the four artefacts, so she could see if she is able to use it with the bio-mutation experiments that allowed her to create her prize mutants.

King Edmund[]

Since Edmund was revealed to be the one who trained the members of the Dark Kingdom's Brotherhood and is a skilled fighter who has lived by a sworn task that is connected to his leadership role, fans could feature him as a Grand Master Assassin of the Assassin Brotherhood.

Kristoff Bjorgman[]

Kristoff is commonly cast between an Assassin and the ally of one, whenever Anna is cast as an Assassin who trusts Kristoff with her secret, as she asks him for his help in her task to keep Elsa safe.

Chris[]

Helping Di (as Liv) with both sides of her work, could have Chris as a modern day Templar beside Di.

Houyi[]

Since the Assassin's Creed series has the assassins meet historic people, as well as mythical figures like the Greek Gods (who were Isu) and monsters, Houyi can easily be placed in the AU. As either himself or as the mythical Chinese Archer he is based on. The legend of him taking down nine of the ten suns could have him as a past user of a Piece of Eden or a member of the Isu, beside Chang'e.

Chang'e[]

Since the Assassin's Creed series has the assassins meet historic people, as well as mythical figures like the Norse Gods (who were Isu) and monsters, Chang'e can easily be placed in the AU. As either herself or as the Chinese Moon Goddess she is based on. The legend of how she became an immortal could have her as a past user of a Piece of Eden or a member of the Isu, beside Houyi and possibly Jade Rabbit as well. Like the Isu who were viewed as Greek and Norse gods in the AC Universe, Chang'e was focused on her own needs than the needs of the humans who worship her.

Maui[]

Since the Assassin's Creed series has the assassins encounter mythical figures like the Greek and Norse Gods (who were both Isu) and monsters, Maui can easily be placed in the AU. As either himself or as the mythical Polynesian hero and trickster he is based on. His magical fish hook can easily serve as a Piece of Eden, while his adoptive god family who turned him onto a demigod can be Isu who once lived as the Polynesian Gods before the Isu race fell, since the AC series has its versions of the Greek and Norse Gods as Isu.

Lance Sterling[]

Lance believing that evil needs to be taken out by hitting the bad hard before they can harm the good, could possibly have him as a Modern day Assassin.

King Runeard[]

Wanting to maintain his kingship could have Runeard as an ally of the Templar Order, so he can have protection from the Assassin Brotherhood while secretly plotting to destroy any piece of Edan that the Templars find. Due to his fear of magic and wanting to make sure that the Templars don't use them against him in the future.

Yelana[]

Yelana being the tribe leader of the Northuldra, can possibly have her as the Oiá:ner (Clan Mother) of the Kanien'kehá:ka people from ACIII.

Stricklander[]

Since one of the Changeling code rules is that there is honour among assassins, even though rule two reveals that the honour part of rule one is a lie, fans could use that assassin reference to portray Strickler and some of his fellow Changelings, like Nomura, as members of the Assassin Brotherhood. Even though the loyalty they had for Gunmar and their lady creator, as they help the Dark Lord to claim the surface world, makes Strickler more of a controlling Templar than a freedom giving Assassin; before he and Nomura side with Jim and his friends.

Namaari[]

When Raya explained what she knows about Namaari's people and home kingdom to her father, she referenced Fang as a tribe of assassins, fans could use that assassin reference to portray Namaari and her people as members of the Assassin Brotherhood. Even though Fang had only looked out for themselves than putting the needs of others, before and after their actions played a part in the Druun's return, while the Assassin Brotherhood use their skills to ensure that mankind doesn't have their freedom taken away by the Templars.

Morgana[]

With the Assassin's Creed series having its own version of characters and items from the Arthurian legends, Morgana can easily be feature in the AU and possibly the Assassin's Creed universe. Since an AC version of the Arthurian character she is originally based on and was named after hasn't been seen or mentioned in the series this far, while the Assassin's Creed versions of Arthur and Merlin were. She could even be featured as an Isu or an Isu-human hybrid, since a few known Isu were viewed as Greek and Norse gods in the AC Universe, while both Adam and Eve were the first known Isu-human hybrids.

Tom Kullersen[]

With Tom being confirmed to be Hiccup's descendant and the way Hiccup has been featured as a member of the Assassin Brotherhood more than once, it can easily have Tom as either a modern day Assassin following in Hiccup's footsteps, or one of the people Abstergo take advantage of so they could gain access to Tom's DNA, and then use him to unlock his ancestor's memories. Just as the modern era templars had used people like Desmond Miles for that very reason, knowing that their assassin ancestors posses the information and knowledge they seek.
