Angel AU (also called Guardian Angel AU) is an AU (Alternate Universe) within the Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons fandom. In the AU, Rapunzel, Merida, Hiccup and Jack Frost are portrayed as angels - divine, fallen or otherwise. Because it is not canon, ideas for this AU are shown through fanfiction, fanart, and other fan-made works.
About the AU[]
In this AU, the Big Four - or at least select members - are portrayed as angels; celestial beings notable for possessing giant bird wings on their backs. They could be the celestial, monotheistic angels, or angel-like beings such as cherubs, gods, or perhaps even a type of fairy. How this plays in the narrative differs between sources, the most common being that the angel in question is a guardian angel to somebody.
Due to the times when Angels are depicted beside demons, who are their negative counterparts, fans like to consider this AU an alternative to Demon AU. It can also be placed beside Gods AU, with angels being messengers of God.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III[]
As an angel Hiccup may have black feathers resembling Toothless's black colored scales or brown feathers matching his hair color, giving him a more earthy appearance. Even as an angel he often is plagued by self doubt about his capabilities in flight or as a protector of humans, only to come through in a moment of crisis.
Jack Frost[]
Jack can easily be portrayed as a Guardian Angel, as he protects the Children of the World as a Guardian of Childhood. He'll most likely be Jamie's Guardian Angel.
Merida DunBroch[]
Most commonly in Seasons Guardians AU, Merida is most commonly portrayed as Cupid, an angel-like being encouraging Eros, or physical and emotional love.
Rapunzel Corona[]
Rapunzel has many traits common to Renaissance angels - long blonde hair, bright eyes, white skin and barefoot. Coupled with her sweet nature this makes her popular to depict as an angelic being.

Adrien Agreste[]
Due to the black color scheme of his Cat Noir persona, it has got ML fans to present him as a black winged angel, so they can place Marinette as a white winged angel beside him. There have been times when Adrien has been featured as a white winged angel, like he was in "Simpleman".
In the Miraculous Paris TV special film, Adrien gets turned into an angel-like version of his Cat Noir self known as Celesticat. This could have fans focus on Celesticat beside the other fan-made angel Adrien/Cat Noir forms that they have given him in the AU.
